Hundreds gathered Sunday morning in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in support of independence from the United States. Your Take top contributor Dan Eidsmoe was on the scene as several groups marched.
Protesters carried Puerto Rican flags as they marched through Ashford Avenue, Eidsmoe reports. A flier for the protest read, "Puerto Rico needs independence as the first step to organize a prosperous country with social justice and sovereignty, which will permit us to have fair and equal relationship with all countries in the world."
Marchers blocked the street for around 30 minutes, according to Eidsmoe.
