On Saturday, November 23, 2013 hundreds participated in a Unity March to Free Oscar Lopez Rivera, a Puerto Rican nationalist who has been incarcerated in the U.S. for over 32 years. Among those marching were Calle 13's Rene "Residente" Perez and NYC Councilwoman Rosie Mendez.

Leader of the Clement Payne Movement, David Comissiong, says it's time the injustices against the Cuban people were stopped. Comissiong's remarks came Sunday during the 37th commemoration for the victims of the October 6, 1976 terrorist Cubana Airlines plane attack that killed 73 people off Paradise Beach in St James.

The Hostosian National Independence Movement of Puerto Rico (MINH-PR), joins the Cuban Embassy in Barbados, The Cuban Barbadian Friendship Association, the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration, the July 26 Movement (Barbados) and other progressive organizations in the commemoration of the 37 years of the crime committed against Cuba by terrorists backed by the U.S. government that blew in the air a Cubana de Aviación Flight 455 on October 6, 1976.
